Robyn Lawley the First ‘Plus-Size’ Model in SI Swimsuit Issue

Robyn Lawley the First Plus-Size Model in SI Swimsuit Issue

Robyn Lawley really made a name for herself when she became the first plus sized model to grace the pages of Sports Illustrated magazine. This bombshell is continually making big waves in the industry by breaking down boundaries that had been holding the precedent since its start. This change is making girls all over the country, and even all over the world rejoice because finally there’s a woman who looks like them. Robyn Lawley is an inspiration to a lot of women and a driving force behind a lot of the body positivity that is in the modeling industry today. She is definitely someone we will be seeing for a long time to come.

As a plus sized model, Robyn has had to put up with so much just to get to where she is today, but she really is staking a claim on her share of the modeling industry. Plus sized Sports Illustrated is something that would have never been thought of in earlier years, but is now a reality spearheaded by this beautiful and curvy bombshell. Lawley has also started many campaigns that encourage young girls to look at their bodies in the healthiest ways possible. This includes her bashing the idea that a thigh gap is a necessary trait of beauty—she is outraged about the fact that it has become such a trend. In recent years, becoming as thin as possible has really taken the country by storm, but Robyn is here to make sure that that trend stops in its tracks.

Hopefully we will be seeing a whole lot more of Robyn and girls who look like her in the future. This is definitely an open door and it is really inspiring. Now that a plus sized model has her foot in the door of a publication so large, hopefully this will help to shatter the idea that all women have to look exactly the same (body-wise) to be beautiful. The world is diverse, and Robyn represents a huge percentage of women who don’t fit the stereotypical standard of a model. There are some big changes coming in the future and hopefully people will be ready for them, because they are going to take the country and its beauty standards by storm. Robyn is doing a great thing by not being a shamed of her size; and it is uplifting women who share her view.
