Made Underground: KIDinaKorner – Thick Fab Life

The vibe was intimate, charming and chill at this evening’s Made Underground: KidInaKorner in Malibu, California.  Held at a cottage-feeling estate overlooking the beach and sponsored by Budweiser, KIDinaKorner featured its acts X Ambassadors & Jamie N Commons in front of a small audience of friends and tastemakers.

From the moment X Ambassadors lead singer Sam Harris opened his mouth, it was clear that this was a band & lead vocalist to take seriously.  He delivered strong vocals clear through his set.  Jamie N Commons joined shortly after with his rendition of Sam Smith‘s “Stay With Me” in a deeper octave.  The bands also performed standout single “Jungle”.

Make no mistake about it, Grammy award-winning producer Alex Da Kid  (“Love The Way You Lie” – Rihanna & Eminem; “Radioactive” – Imagine Dragons; etc.) didn’t just stumble upon his success, and it’s apparent in how strong tonight’s songs and performances were.  Creating real, timeless records with real musicians is clearly the standard for the KIDinaKorner family.

I choose the word family to describe this team because it’s definitely the vibe I got while hanging out with them on the beach after the show.   Not at all what one may expect from a team dominating the charts in the often superficial world of popular music.

Everyone was warm, welcoming & just cool.  I met Mike Del Rio who is a producer signed to KIDinaKorner & he was just a down-to-earth guy.  It’s obvious that this is a family of true friends who have endured the extreme and treacherous terrains of the music industry together and are all happy to be sharing the view together now at the top.

Tonight was real.  Real Musicians.  Real production.  Real down to earth people.  TFL extends a special thanks to Randy Henderson of Interscope Records.  (Photos Below)
